My Yorkie is afraid of EVERYTHING. Me, my family members, certain objects, ever loud farts! It annoys everyone because he runs everytime someone comes within 5 feet of him. Everyone thinks that he might have been abused but he wasn't, at all. The lady said he's just always been timid but why? Are all yorkies like this? How can I help him NOT be so afraid. He's 3 yrs old.

My neighbor's boston terrier was put to sleep today because she had advanced parvovirus. She hasn't been in my yard since WAY before she displayed symptoms and my 6 dogs haven't been in her yard, but is there any risk to my dogs being so close? If so, is there anything that I can do?
I'm planning to give my 8 month old pup a parvo booster tonight and my 5 adult dogs were just given their boosters less than 2 months ago.
Just some more info, my pup finished her puppy series of shots at 4 mths, and now she's 8 mths, so it hasn't been that long. All my dogs are up to date on all shots.

I think my dog suffered from heat stroke. But I'm not sure if that was the case. He was like lying in one corner the whole day, breathing heavily with mucus and saliva coming out of his mouth. He lost his appetite but I'm pretty sure that he didn't eat something really bad. I thought it was heat stroke because yesterday was 39 degrees Celsius (Believe it or not) here in Manila. Hope you have any home remedies or idea on how to treat this since we cant afford to go to the vet. Hope you guys can help me on this… Thank you very much!

I am trying to read up on this but I am still not sure. Is there a low chance that my dog is pregnant if there was drainage at the time of conception? And also the male dog constantly licks the liquid that drains out of her. Is that normal?

she is a one year-old bichonapoo.(bichon mixed with a puddle) she is a very energetic dog, but today she is very lathargic, shy, jumpy, eyes are droopy, not playful at all. she got into some oranges. but i dont think it has a relation. some one help i am very worried.

We want to seek free help for our dog who is very sick at this time. My husband rescued this dog eight years ago. The two dogs helped him survived when first wife died about ten years ago. It is going to be hard for him since Cookie is like a child for him. Please help. We live in Northern California.

I have a Pitbull pup that is recovering from parvo, he's a nice looking dog,and before the parvo he looked like he was going to be big and built, he is still a little weak and skinny but he was a lot worse, someone told me he won't grow the way he was supposed to because of parvo is this true? I was just wondering I love my dog no matter what, I'm just glad he doing better.

My friends dog's cooter is really swollen. Does that mean that she's in heat? Also, when a dog bleeds, is that when she can get pregnant? I've got a 4 month old female pup, so I should know these things for my own sake.

My dog fell ill suddenly. Took him to the vet and his blood work came back showing high toxicity. They don't know from what. He likes to eats spiders and other bugs. The doctor doesn't think it's from eating a black widow but I would be curious if anyone has knowledge of a dog eating a black widow and the sypmtoms.

Both dogs are male. Since the pup has arrived the oldest yorkie stays out of the way and hides upstairs. As soon as it comes down the pup tries to grab it. The older one will then snap at it and then run bag upstairs out of the way for hours. What can I do?

my family found a HUGE lump under my dogs belly.
we went to the vet, to see if it was cancerous. we found it was just fat lumps.. but its gotten bigger, and lately our male dog (FIVE YRS.) has been attached to our other dog, biscuit with the lump.. (8 YRS.)
biscuit has nott been very happy lately, staying indoors, sleeping the whole day.. licking the groud, with our male dog by her side.. is she sick or sumthing?

He is not showing any symptoms of it at all. Like I said before I may just be paranoid. He is a 7 month old West Highland White Terrier!
He was fully vaccinated for it.

My yorkie is getting fixed this month and I am nervous because I have had friends tell me that it is more dangerous for small dogs. My vet and breeder have assured me that it will be ok. My puppy is my life I love her to death and am very scared about this upcomming ordeal.

Sorry for being gross but my dog had some tummy trouble in the past month and I don't need anything else happening to her. I took her for a walk before and she stopped to smell some poop, I pulled her away quickly but she had already sniffed it. Can she get sick from that???? She is up to date on shots, etc. Also the poop was black, is that normal?? Now I am a bit worried. Gross, and I am sorry, the poop was black/with red and was dry…wtf?
I think some of you don't understand, she did not poop black poop, she just sniffed it..and her vacinations are up to date.

My puppy is shivering & not eating.He's been throwing up & the vet said he had parvo.There's no cure for that but she said i can help ease the pain to my dog.My friend said pepto-bismol helps.I gave him some & he stopped throwing up but is still shivering & weak.What should I do when the vet can't help?!

I have a norwegian elkhound that is about 3.5 years old. Normally she is a very calm, obediant dog. Every time she goes into heat, she decides that my carpet makes a much better bathroom than outside. I'l take her out and walk her forever. She will urinate everytime I take her out. Normally she will head towards the front door when she is finished, but now as soon as I let her in she will immediately poop on the floor, regardless of how long we have been outside. Then, if I do not watch her every second, she will urinate on the carpet. These dogs are not the easiest dogs to train as they seem to have a mind of their own and I am tried of having to re-housebreak this dog everytime she goes into heat. When she is not in heat, she wouldn't begin to think of messing in the house, so I don't know why this happens.

IPurchased this dog thru Craig’s list and was told she had all her current shots. No documents were provided. She is currently pregnant and I am not sure if it's okay to give her dewarming meds since the feces had small warms.
